NILS Bushfire Relief Policy

Our thoughts and hearts go out to the communities impacted by the devastating bushfires across Australia.

We estimate that nearly 3,000 NILS clients are in bushfire affected areas.

As a response we have developed a NILS Bushfire Relief Policy in conjunction with our longstanding corporate partner, NAB. This policy is effective today, Tuesday 14 January 2020 and is designed to support NILS clients in bushfire affected areas and includes:

  • 1.

    Existing NILS clients can renegotiate loan repayment terms or defer repayments on their loan to suit their needs

  • 2.

    Where the loan asset (e.g. fridge purchased with a NILS loan) has been destroyed or is not usable due to the bushfires, opportunity to review the loan have been put in place

  • 3.

    New clients can access a NILS ‘Bushfire Relief’ loan of up to $2,000 (increased from $1,500) with reduced requirement for documentation
